Wedding Cake Designer in Dundee, Scotland

​Hello! So this is me, the face behind Philippa Rose Cake Design.  I'm Philippa (but please call me Pippa) and my Mum's name is Rose, hence, Philippa Rose. 

 

I grew up in East Anglia on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. I spent most of my career working as a Personal Assistant and then as an Event Manager running beer and whisky tasting shows. I met my husband Chris through my best friend and moved to Birmingham where he was then living. After a year he proposed, I know, keen wasn’t he, but hey when you know, you know and we moved up to Monifieth near Dundee in Scotland where he is originally from.

 

I went back to being a Personal Assistant and then when our first child (Olivia) was born I took my part time wedding cake design business to full time and here I am today. Harvey came along four years later and the last member of the team is our black Labrador called Willow.   

 

Favourite things

A few of my favourite things include long walks on the beach, which we are really lucky to have on our doorstep, followed by a glass (or two) of wine or prosecco in a nice pub with a roaring fire. I also love reading a good book with a cup of tea cosied up on the sofa, watching a film or getting hooked on a box set - if you have any recommendations I'm always on the look out. I LOVE a list and I’m super organised. I am a Harry Potter fan and they are my go to films to watch when I’m working. I also like to exercise, well, that’s not entirely true – exercise makes me feel good so that’s the main reason I do it. I love lying by a pool in a sunny country but I also enjoy getting my skis on and attempting to ski down a mountain but I can only manage the really easy runs!

About my wedding cakes

I specialise in designing high end wedding cakes with beautiful sharp edges and a flawless finish. My passion is creating life like sugar flowers and I can sit for hours perfecting them. I have a great attention to detail and always want to make sure I design your wedding cake exactly as you have imagined it. Olivia tells me I am the best cake mummy in the world so she must be right!
